Mangaluru: St Aloysius BEd College Inaugurates Student Council

Mangaluru, May 14: St Aloysius BEd College has inaugurated the Student Council for the 2022-23 academic year. The program was held at the college auditorium. The program began with a prayer song. Dr. Abdul Khader AA, Retired Director, KPT (Evening), Mangaluru was the chief guest. The guest of honor inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp.

In his address, the guest of honor mentioned that the presence of a student council in an institute is an opportunity for students to acquire leadership skills and fulfill their responsibilities in various fields. It develops democratic and socialist values. It fosters a better learning environment and develops a stronger sense of belonging and commitment to organizing activities for the betterment of the institute. He also enlightened the assembly on the appropriate use of social media and the need to filter information before accepting it as the truth.

Dr. Farita Viegas, Director, congratulated the new board members and said that a leader must work together and be of service to others and that cohesion moves us forward.

Father Dr. Praveen Martis SJ, principal of the college, shed light on how a leader must go the extra mile to serve. He called on the new leaders to inculcate the values ​​of Jesuit education, namely competence, commitment, compassion and conscience.

Sandhya, assistant professor, was sworn in to the following elected members of the student council: Sr. Eulalia Lobo BS (student president), Preethi Shainy Pais (student vice-president), Harish Kumar SJ (sports secretary), Preemal Maria D’Almeida (cultural secretary) and methodological secretaries: Fr Santhosh D’Souza (Social Sciences), Rishel D’Souza (English) and Akshay Kumar (Sciences).

Suphala Kamath delivered the welcome address. Srilakshmi introduced the main guest to the audience. Vrinda, proposed the vote of thanks. Ashlyn Tini Pinto provided the program. Joshna B, personnel manager, organized the program.
